This policy governs the authorized use of the GIBQ Verified certification mark (the “Seal”) by vendors who have received a valid GIBQ Certificate of Verification. The Seal is an unregistered trademark of GIBQ Operations LLC and may only be used in accordance with this policy.
The integrity of GIBQ certification depends on consistent, accurate use of the Seal. Misuse — including use by uncertified vendors or use that misrepresents the scope of certification — undermines the trust that the GIBQ program is designed to establish.
A vendor holding a valid, current GIBQ Certificate of Verification is authorized to use the Seal in the following ways:
- On product pages and listings for the specific certified SKUs identified in the certificate
- In marketing materials, including email communications and digital advertising, provided the certificate number is displayed alongside the Seal
- On physical product packaging for certified lots, accompanied by the certificate number and certification date
- On the vendor's website to indicate GIBQ Verified status, with a link to the GIBQ Registry entry
- In press releases and media communications announcing or referencing the certification
In all authorized uses, the certificate number (format: GIBQ-YYYY-NNNN) must be displayed in proximity to the Seal. The Seal may not be used without this reference.
- Use by uncertified vendors. Any vendor that has not received a current, valid GIBQ Certificate of Verification is strictly prohibited from displaying the Seal or any representation of it.
- Use for uncertified SKUs. The Seal may not be displayed on product pages or packaging for products not listed in the vendor's current certificate.
- Use when certification is not active. While a certificate is Suspended or Under Appeal, the vendor must immediately stop describing itself or any product as GIBQ Verified. Within 10 business days after a certificate becomes Revoked, Expired, or Withdrawn, the vendor must remove all Seal displays, as set out in Section 14 of the GIBQ Certification Procedures.
- Modification of the Seal. The Seal may not be altered, recolored, distorted, or combined with other marks in a way that changes its appearance or implies an endorsement beyond the scope of GIBQ certification.
- Implying regulatory approval. The Seal certifies independent audit conformance only. It may not be used in a manner that implies FDA approval, pharmaceutical-grade classification, or any regulatory authorization.
- Use in connection with human consumption claims. GIBQ certifies research peptide products for research use only. The Seal may not be used in any context that promotes or implies human consumption.
Any party who observes suspected misuse of the GIBQ Verified Seal — including use by uncertified vendors or fraudulent display — is encouraged to report it to GIBQ at certification@gibq.org with the subject line “Seal Misuse Report.” GIBQ will investigate all reports and take appropriate action, which may include public notice of misuse and legal action where warranted.
GIBQ reserves the right to revoke certification and demand immediate cessation of Seal use by any vendor found to be in violation of this policy. GIBQ may pursue legal remedies available under trademark law for unauthorized use of the certification mark.
A vendor may appeal a revocation by email to certification@gibq.org within 30 days after the revocation notice was sent, as set out in Section 11 of the GIBQ Certification Procedures. Declined applications, requests for information, and suspensions are not appealable.
