GIBQ is an independent third-party auditor of supplier documentation. It reviews Certificates of Analysis and laboratory credentials against the published GIBQ 7-Point Standard, and lists certified suppliers in a public registry that buyers can search.
What certification provides
- A public record. If certified, your company, the products your certificate covers, and your current certificate status are listed at gibq.org/certified-vendors, where buyers can look them up.
- Website and product-page marks. A Badge for your website and a Seal for product pages of covered products. Both are served from gibq.org, so they always show your certificate's current status.
- A label mark. The GIBQ shield, printed with "gibq.org" beneath it, on the labels of products your certificate covers, once GIBQ approves the label.
- Independent documentation review. Your documentation is reviewed by a third party against a published standard.
- No charge. There is no charge for certification.
- Application preparation. On request, GIBQ staff prepare the application from documents you publish or send. Your authorized representative is verified, then reviews the application, corrects anything, and attests. The audit begins only after attestation.
What certification requires
Annual renewal with current Certificates of Analysis. Prompt reporting of material changes. Use of the marks only as the GIBQ Verified Seal Usage Policy permits, including the required disclosures on product pages and in shipments of labeled products.
What certification is not
It is not product testing, and not a guarantee of any product's identity, purity, quality, or safety. It is not approval by the FDA or any other government agency, and not an endorsement of any product or supplier. Applying does not guarantee certification.
To begin
Apply at gibq.org/apply. If you received an invitation from GIBQ, you may instead use the request link in that email or reply to it. Applications are currently accepted from suppliers based in the United States.
